General Information
Passport and Visa
Participants must have a passport valid for at least six months after the end of the Conference. Please check your visa requirements on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania: https://www.mae.ro/en/node/2035 .
Upon request, the Congress Secretariat will send a personal invitation to Conference participants. This invitation is intended solely to assist with visa applications or fundraising and does not constitute a commitment to provide financial support.
Credit Cards, Currency, and Exchange
The official currency in Romania is the Romanian Leu (RON). Exchange facilities are available at the airport, in hotels, exchange offices throughout the city, and at bank exchange desks.
Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted at ATMs, hotels, restaurants, and stores, but it is advisable to check before making a purchase.
Language
The official language of the conference is English.
Notice for Drivers (Zero Alcohol Policy)
Drivers should be aware that Romania enforces a zero-tolerance policy on blood alcohol levels while driving.
Tipping
It is customary to leave a tip of around 10% at restaurants unless a service charge is already included in the bill.
Time Zone
Romania operates on GMT +2 hours. Daylight Saving Time is observed until the end of October.
Electricity
Electricity is supplied at 230V, 50Hz. Romania uses round, European-style two-pin plugs, which may require a voltage converter and plug adapter for visitors from countries with different standards.
Shopping Hours
Typical shopping hours in Sibiu are from 10:00 to 18:00, with large shopping centers open until 22:00. For further details, please contact the Registration Desk.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the conference venue, restaurants, or event locations. Smokers must use designated outdoor areas. Smoking is also prohibited in public buildings, public transport, taxis, buses, and trains.
Insurance
The Organizing Committee cannot assume responsibility for injuries or losses incurred by participants or their personal belongings during the Conference. Attendees are advised to arrange appropriate travel insurance. In the event of Force Majeure circumstances leading to the cancellation of the congress, registered participants will not be entitled to compensation.
